Traditional style home with a modern touches, in Goa

Alice von Baum and her partner Jehangir Kotwal live in Assagao, opposite a gleaming white Baroque-style Portuguese church in the Indian state of Goa. The traditional Goan style house once had dark interior woodwork, heavy carved furniture and many coloured walls. Now it has a pared-down, modern interior that owes much to the fact that the new owners spent most of their lives in Europe.
